Amanda DeMatteis, Nina Pirrotti, and Meaghan Kirby at the 2025 NELA Convention in Baltimore

Last week, our partners Nina Pirrotti and Amanda DeMatteis and associate Meaghan Kirby attended the 2025 convention of the National Employment Lawyers Association in Baltimore.

Nina and Amanda each presented as part of panels.

Nina shared the stage with Dr. Dawn Hughes and Anne Hunter for a panel entitled, “Using Experts in a Trauma Informed Manner.” This session focused on how to choose an expert who has experience with workplace trauma, how to support your employee client during expert interviews, and how to prepare employees to hear about their trauma during expert witness testimony.

Amanda co-presented with Amanda Farahany and R. Scott Oswald for a panel entitled, “Focus Groups at Every Stage of Your Case.” They which discussed how and when to use focus groups in an employment case and how to organize them on a budget.

Designed by plaintiffs’ employment lawyers for plaintiffs’ employment lawyers, the NELA annual convention offers three days of valuable networking, inspiring and educational conversations, and meaningful camaraderie. Learn more about the event here.
