Garrison Law Partner Nina Pirrotti was interviewed by WFSB following the release of an independent review examining how Connecticut State Colleges and Universities handled sexual harassment allegations against former Interim Chancellor O. John Maduko.

The review found serious failures in CSCU’s response, including failures to follow its own Title IX and harassment policies, delays in providing protections to employees who came forward and offering inadequate measures thereafter, and breakdowns in reporting and institutional accountability.

Nina represents two of the women who came forward. Speaking with WFSB about one of her clients, Nina said that she was repeatedly failed by the very people responsible for protecting her and was not heard, supported, or adequately protected.

The report also found that CSCU could have and indeed should have, continued investigating the underlying allegations after Maduko resigned, but independent review itself was limited to examining CSCU’s response rather than determining whether the alleged conduct occurred.

Nina continues to advocate for her clients as the findings of this review bring renewed attention to institutional responsibility, workplace protections, and the importance of taking harassment complaints seriously.
