Partner Nina Pirrotti and her extraordinary client traveled to San Francisco so that her client could receive the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA)’s highest honor, Courageous Plaintiff, at NELA’s annual conference. The award was presented before an audience of approximately 400 plaintiffs’ employment lawyers. During the presentation, Nina Pirrotti described the journey they, along with Partner Josh Goodbaum and former associate Lizzie Lee, took together toward justice for our client and accountability for her employer. Her client then captivated the audience with poems she had written about her evolution as a survivor and about Ms. Pirrotti as her advocate. Below is an excerpt from the program of this momentous event:

This plenary session will bring to life the stories of three remarkable individuals who stood up to their employers and held their ground in the face of immense adversity, not only to vindicate their own rights to improve the lives of others as well. Our honorees embody the change we want to see in the American workplace and their courage to rise to the challenge will inspire us to continue to fight for equality and justice for all. Their lawyers will share their legal theories and litigation strategies that led to their client’s extraordinary victories.

You deserve justice. We are here to fight for you.
