Meaghan Kirby Speaks at CBA Labor & Employment Law Section’s 2026 Advanced Labor & Employment Law Symposium

On Thursday, March 26, 2026, our associate Meaghan Kirby moderated and spoke in a panel at the Connecticut Bar Association Labor & Employment Law Section’s 2026 Advanced Labor & Employment Law Symposium. This annual event covered a wide range of topics, including ethical traps for employment lawyers, workplace political expression, discrimination claims, pay equity, mediations and arbitrations, and labor law.

In her panel, entitled, “Connecticut’s Section 31-51q in Action: Practical Guidance for Workplace Political Expression,” Meaghan and her co-speakers, Eric Chester of Ferguson Doyle & Chester PC and Michael Rose of Rose Kallor LLP, provided attendees with practical guidance, based on real world examples, of current speech rights that employees do and do not have in the workplace, and covered the primary protected speech categories; when an employee’s speech cannot be restricted, including social media; and off-duty political activity.
