Biography
Meaghan Kirby is an associate attorney who represents Connecticut employees, both in and out of the courtroom. Since 2023, Meaghan has been ranked by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star, a distinction given only to 2.5% of Connecticut attorneys under the age of 40.
Before she joined Garrison Law, Meaghan practiced civil litigation at another Connecticut firm, representing and advising employees and employers in matters involving claims of employment discrimination and wrongful termination, non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, and employment contract disputes. Meaghan additionally served as a law clerk to the Honorable Eliot D. Prescott of the Connecticut Appellate Court during the 2021-2022 term.
Meaghan earned her law degree, summa cum laude, from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2021, with a dual concentration in Workplace Law and Civil Advocacy & Dispute Resolution, each with honors. During her law school career, Meaghan received various awards for outstanding coursework and involvement in extracurricular activities. Meaghan was a publication editor of, and is published in, the Quinnipiac Law Review, worked as a member of Quinnipiac’s Defense Appellate Clinic, in which she drafted an appellate brief on behalf of an incarcerated criminal defendant, and served as president of Quinnipiac University School of Law’s Mock Trial Society, for which she coaches today. Meaghan was named the Best Advocate of the final round of the Northeast Regional Championship of the 2021 National Trial Competition and went on to be a quarterfinalist in the national championship. Prior to law school, Meaghan received her B.A. in Literature from American University.
Meaghan proudly serves as the President of the Connecticut Employment Lawyers Association (CELA), an organization for attorneys who represent employees in all aspects of employment law in Connecticut. She also serves as the co-chair of the Labor & Employment Law Committee of the Young Lawyers Section of the Connecticut Bar Association (CBA). Meaghan is an active member of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) and the CBA.
Aside from her time in Washington, D.C., Meaghan has lived in New Haven County her entire life. When she is not at the office, you can find Meaghan hiking, watching documentaries, or cheering on the New England Patriots.
